1. Our commitment & your consent

Life Point Acupuncture (“we,” “our practice,” or “us”) respects your privacy and your time. This policy explains how we use text (SMS) messaging to communicate with you about your care.

By providing your mobile phone number to our practice — on an intake form, through our scheduling system, or by request — you consent to receive text messages from us related to your appointments and care, as described in this policy. You are never required to consent to text messaging as a condition of receiving treatment, and you may opt out at any time.

2. Types of messages we send

We use SMS messaging only for practical, care-related communication. Specifically, we send:

  • Appointment reminders — confirmations and reminders ahead of scheduled visits.

  • Schedule changes — notices about rescheduled, moved, or cancelled appointments, so you always have the latest information.

  • Referral and follow-up notices — messages about referrals we've made or received on your behalf, and related care coordination.

We do not use SMS for marketing, advertising, or promotional messages. If that ever changes, we will ask for your separate consent first and update this policy.

3. Message frequency

The number of messages you receive depends on your appointments — typically one to a few messages per scheduled visit (for example, a confirmation and a reminder). You will not receive recurring or automated messages unrelated to your care.

4. Opting out & getting help

To stop receiving text messages, reply “STOP” to any message we send. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts from us. For help, reply “HELP.” You may also contact us directly using the information at the end of this policy.

If you opt out and later wish to receive text messages again, simply let us know — by phone, in person, or by replying to one of our messages — and we will gladly re-enroll you.

5. Message costs

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. Life Point Acupuncture does not charge you for the messages we send. If you have questions about rates, please check with your mobile carrier.

6. How we protect your information

  • Health information. Our text messages are brief and practical. We do not send detailed medical or clinical information by text, and we encourage you to contact us directly for anything related to your health records or treatment.

  • No selling or sharing. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

  • Service providers. We use a trusted business-texting service provider to deliver these messages on our behalf. That provider is bound by contract to use your information only to deliver our messages, and not for its own purposes.

  • Security. We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the phone numbers and contact information in our records.

  • Retention. We keep your contact information only as long as needed to provide your care and to meet our record-keeping obligations.

7. Carrier terms

Participation in our SMS program is subject to your mobile carrier's terms. Delivery of messages is not guaranteed — carriers may block, delay, or filter messages — and your carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version will always be posted here with its revision date, and material changes will be communicated to you before they take effect.
