Accepting these terms
These SMS Terms of Service (“SMS Terms”) govern your participation in the text-message program offered by Life Point Acupuncture (“we,” “our practice,” or “us”). By providing your mobile phone number to our practice and consenting to receive text messages from us, you agree to these SMS Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may opt out at any time as described below — receiving care at our practice never requires you to accept them.
These SMS Terms apply to our text messaging only. They supplement, and do not replace, our SMS Privacy Policy and any other agreements or policies that apply to your care.
2. The messaging program
Our text-message program sends brief, care-related notices to patients of our practice, including:
Appointment reminders — confirmations and reminders ahead of scheduled visits.
Schedule changes — notices about rescheduled, moved, or cancelled appointments.
Referral and follow-up notices — messages about referrals we've made or received on your behalf, and related care coordination.
The program is available to patients and contacts of Life Point Acupuncture. We do not use this program for marketing or promotional messages.
3. Your consent
By providing your mobile phone number — on an intake form, through our scheduling system, or by request — you consent to receive text messages from us at the number you provide, using an automatic telephone dialing system or similar technology, for the purposes described in these SMS Terms.
You confirm that the mobile number you give us belongs to you or that you are authorized to use it.
You agree to notify us promptly if your mobile number changes or is discontinued.
You may withdraw your consent and stop receiving messages at any time, for any reason.
4. Opting out & getting help
To stop receiving text messages, reply “STOP” to any message we send. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts from us. For help, reply “HELP” or contact us using the information at the end of these terms.
Opting out of text messages does not affect your care, your appointments, or our other communications with you — it only stops text messages. If you opt out and later wish to receive texts again, just let us know by phone, in person, or by replying to one of our messages, and we will re-enroll you.
5. Message costs
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. Life Point Acupuncture does not charge you for the messages we send. Check with your mobile carrier if you have questions about rates or how messages appear on your bill.
6. Not for urgent or medical use
Our text messages are administrative notices only — they are not monitored around the clock, and no one may be able to read your reply right away. Do not use text messages to communicate medical concerns, symptoms, medication questions, or emergencies. For anything time-sensitive or clinical, call our office directly. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
7. Carrier requirements
Participation in our SMS program is subject to your mobile carrier's terms of service, including any terms for text messaging, short codes, and toll-free messaging. Your carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Delivery & availability
We intend for messages to be accurate and timely, but delivery is not guaranteed. Carriers may block, delay, or filter messages, and messages may arrive out of order. Text messages may be interrupted, discontinued, or changed without notice due to carrier or technical issues. The information in our text messages does not by itself confirm or modify an appointment — changes to an appointment are only confirmed through our office.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its revision date, and material changes will be communicated to you before they take effect. If you continue to receive text messages after a change, that means you accept the updated terms — or you may opt out at any time.
